Default How can you disable the PDC (parking distance control)

Just installed the Nav2Go camera and while the camera works fine, the PDC display overlays itself on the display. The people at Nav2Go tell me you there is a switch/plug on the back of the head unit that can be pulled to disable it but my installer is not finding it. Anyone have a solution here ?? Thanks !!

As simple as tapping on the screen removes the pop up!
In the manual under 'Parking Aid'.

Thanks.

That is what I thought, but was wondering if there was an automatic way that I did not know about.

I (TheJagWrangler - Home - About Us) am working on an integration device that plugs into the monitor that will allow operation of the camera without being in navigation mode, and will automatically return the screen to whatever mode you were in. It will also override the parking distance pop-up automatically.

I plan to sell it as a kit with a camera and converter, but I will also make just the integration module available for those who already have already installed another aftermarket camera.

How's that project going Steve?
I think there's a good number of us that are looking forward to that purchase!
Question: Will your kit only have a single video input, or multiple? Just thinking it would be nice to also have a front facing (low mounted) camera to prevent cracking the splitter on a high curb.

I am making decent progress, though frankly I am behind where I had hoped to be by this date. I had to do some redesign to address some unforeseen challenges, and also I have had a bit less time available to work on it recently than I had hoped.

I am still committed to the project, but a mid-summer availability might be just out of reach now.

The kit will have multiple video inputs with an option for a front camera. This unit will have some other distinct advantages, but I do not want to spill all the beans just yet.

......I'm on the edge of my seat too.........
I'm about to embark on a rear-seat delete project on my own. Bernie's (Sherbercars) design is my inspiration.

[QUOTE=WhiteXKR;1240212]Thanks.

From what I read only the cars with BOTH front and rear PDC have a switch on the overhead console that allows you turn manually turn it on and off. My A8 has the same thing on the dash.
