How to charge from the outside
Hi, sorry, I know this has been discussed, but searching for half hour now. Battery is flat, key can't get out off hole in center console, trunk won't open, parking lamps and starter button lights are on. First step is to charge it, I found the battery + post under rear left fender, but the CTEK has been charging for a long time now, maybe the constant lights draw more?
IIRC there are posts in the engine compartment?

Jon his keyfob is stuck in centre console due to the vehicle not having enough voltage to discharge and release his fob
If you can’t get your key blade out, and you can’t get a ‘real’ charger, pull the fuse(s) controlling the lights (and anything else that might be ‘on’ in convenience mode) to give your maintainer a fighting chance.
And it will take a week for a battery maintainer to charge a battery… on a car with the lights and ignition on.
That is, if the battery can even take a charge…. Sorry @kj07xk , just tuned in to your message.
Of course, what’s your time worth an hour? How many hours have you spent on this? What’s a new battery worth?
If you’ve been using a maintainer regularly and you’re still in this dilemma, perhaps just changing it is the solution??

Charge the battery using a higher amp charger like 15 amps vice the trickle charge from a battery maintainer.
Or charge/jump start from another vehicle.

Got into the trunk with key from other remote. Removing license plate on mine is last resort, cumbersome. Nobody knows if there are charging posts in engine room?
Took negative wire off battery, charged CTEK for 5 hours, started fine, key came up. Had to reset p-brake and windows, right one first attempt, left one after many attempts, as usual.
So back to life! Thanks

Don’t think you’ll find any. Wouldn’t serve any purpose beyond what the exterior post behind the rear wheel provides (even less, as you need to be able to open the hood/bonnet).
Congrats on getting her charged and started.

Yes, but the underlying problem still exists. Why did the battery fail? Is it beyond its normal service life (4-6 years)? Unless you address this issue, you will continue to have problems. The exterior light illumination is a cry for help; it is the sign of a moribund battery.
There are no charging points in the engine bay but in the left rear wheel well there is a + charging post.

Easier if you remove the back seat there is a jumper point. Bottom right hand side of the fuse box and it's marked BATT+ and even though the cable colour is black its connected directly to the positive terminal of the battery.
Not sure I’d call that easier than the exterior post behind the left rear wheel. But nice to know that there is another option.
I guess I wouldn't just wait and see but instead take it and get the battery load tested. When you do that you will see what the next move is.
