I have some new interior trim pieces coming any day now. Does anyone know how to remove the navigation surround, gearshift surround and ashtray piece?

Go to the above. I KNOW your not installing a ACM, but be patient. Go thur the document and around page 10 or 14 or there abouts, it has pictorals of removing some of the items you mentioned. On a XK.

For things that need to be pried apart......go to your local Pepboys or such and they have plastic tools for prying interior parts apart. Just ask the guy at the counter where they are located.

 

The best trim removal tools I've found are at Griotsgarage.com ... their item #37850. There are 8 different tools in their set and the entire set sells for $24.99. Best advice - be patient and don't 'force' anything!
