I suspect there may be deer in some places, because there are sections through forest, but there do seem to be some tall fences, too. Hard to observe at those speeds. But I was really impressed with the effortlessness of it all; apart from looking well ahead for errant Dutchpersons, it was pretty relaxed. Up until the point where we realised we were low on gas (it burns fast at a continuous 5500 rpm) and needed to find a tankstelle in the middle of nowhere at 8AM on a Saturday...

I was just disappointed that there was almost no-one to play with. A 911 had a go at staying with me briefly, but we left him behind somewhere over 175...

Many Years ago we rented an Opel Senator in Germany. This was a large, 4 door sedan with a performance engine and suspension. It could do an honest 150 MPH (240 km/h) all day long. I felt like a kid in a candy store basically nailing the accelerator to the floor much of the times during our weeks of driving through Italy, Germany and Austria.

The most fun was "speed limited" Austria where the speed limits were generally ignored by both the drivers and the police. The winding roads in the Alps were basically non-stop racetracks where everyone seemed to be racing everyone else. I told my wife that I felt like I was Mario Andretti, racing never ending numbers of Nikki Laudas and, if I lived in Austria I would not need to be track racing, at all. It was all done on those winding 2-lane mountain roads.

I'm in Minnesota and whitetail deer abound but I tend to do my antics during mid day. Deer move about (head to water, @ dawn and dusk) and certainly at night. I rarely see deer during midday. The roads I play on have more farmland than woods but even the stretches of wooded areas are far enough from the road to minimize the risk.

Just had it up to 212 kph (131.7 Mph) - solid as a rock - I'd like to take to max but the speed limit here is 120 Kph - I'd hate to have the car impounded.

Yeah, it's frustrating having the capability but nowhere to use it. At least I can get to an autobahn, but it takes a day each way and several hundred quid.

I remember the autobahn. driving my TVR flat out (was born in the UK - moved to Canada in 1981)

And that reminds me of Kraftwerk

Wir fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n auf der Autobahn:

I used to play that on my piano and synth..

I've only had her for a couple of weeks so I push it to 130 on the way back from Dallas. She held steady and smooth. May break that one day....or not
