Why not replace the battery?

Or jump start it from the post behind the left rear wheel, there's a rubber boot covering that positive post.

Might be miles off here but the earlier XK8 has a small plug on the gear change console which you remove with a torx key. Then you insert something like the ignition key or a thin screwdriver and it releases the lock and allows you to select neutral. I guess if you cant see the totx head then you haven't got it.
Good luck

The X150 4.2L doesn't have an emergency release. The only way to get it out of park is electrically. As KJ07XK says, the easiest way is to jump it. I think Jaguar fixed this problem with the 5.0L version.

Ditto. Might need to find a way to back feed the battery if you can't get to it. The cigar lighter is on a relay so it isn't connected to the battery when the car is off.

Find the service manual and download it. It's a wonderful resource.

The positive terminal post is available both inside and outside the car. In the trunk/boot, its behind the plastic grill on the left side. That post extends through the body and is also available under the car to the rear of the left rear tire well, if you can't get into the trunk/boot.
