that does look nice. is the real leather only on certain years or do they have the Portfolio across all years?

For the North American market, 4.2L models came with the all-leather interior if it had the Luxury Package, which was an option on base models and standard on XKR models. Leather seats are easily identified, as they are perforated with a horizontal pleat pattern. The vinyl seats are not perforated and have a single, narrow vertical pleat. Early 2007 XKR models had leather seats that weren't perforated. If it has leather seats, the dashboard and door cards usually are leather. See this 2018 thread for details:

For the North American market 2008 and 2009 model years, the 4.2L XKR Portfolio coupe and convertible were top-of-the line limited-production models with unique features and colors. All 2008 XKR Portfolios were Celestial Black with Cremona wheels and all 2009 XKR Portfolios were Shadow Gray with Selena wheels. Beginning with the 5.0L 2010 models, Portfolio became a trim package, and was no longer a limited-production model.
