Default How many XK's in America?

Where does one find the annual sales totals for the XK's? How many, in total, are on American roads? I've been driving around Fairfax County Virginia for 15 years and have only seen 2 other than mine and one of those times was when I had morning coffee with a friend I knew had an XK (not an random sighting).

I don't know but I read some where the first year sales where approx 4000 (2007) and fell off to around 2000 per year. I don't recall seeing a another in GR ever.

18,648 to date. Not all that rare, but concentrated more in certain areas. I can see at least one XK every day here in Florida.

Funny but years ago when i bought my Ferrari i thought that there wasn't any in my area. After a few years I found out there were 5 of them within 15 miles of my home. So when I got the XKR I checked with my sister in law who works for a large insurance company to see how many XK's are in the county. She told me I have the only one. Now if I go 50 miles north/south/east and west I can find a few but not to the point where I would pass one on the road.

Here in Northern Utah, I've not seen any XKs of any sort. There are quite a few X100 XK8s and XKRs (subjectively speaking), but none of the X150s as far as I've seen. I DID see ONE F-type ONCE, so I don't know if it was local or just passing through. Dozens of Porsches, BMWs, Audis and Mercs tho.

I've only seen one other in my area, but not lately. Use to see it around my house when I had my X100 series XK8.

There's a red '04 convertible in my neighborhood, but I rarely see any of the '07-'14 versions.

One I did see was last fall. I was in my daily driver (not XK) sitting in traffic and the far right lane (of four) was fairly open and a beautiful silver coupe flew by and went up the exit ramp. It was a rare sunny day during the typical gray days of late fall and the car seemed to glow. It was inspiring. I saw a lot of heads turn in the cars to admire it.

Thanks for the numbers. 18K makes them still fairly rare when you consider that over 1.1M Volkswagen Jettas and 2.7M Honda Accords were sold over the same period. There are 6 XKs on the road for every 1,000 Accords.

I haven't seen any F-Types on the road, though there are plenty at my local dealer (in the same suburban town). They are very attractive and I'm surprised I haven't seen more.

Yes, I seen dozens of Porsches, BMW's, Audis and Mercs too. I actually went and test drove a Porsche Cayman before buying the XK. Though I had my heart set on an XK, I wanted to be sure I had made an objective decision which included road feel.

Default Rare Cat

Jaguar produced only 200 XKR Portfolio Convertibles in 2009, with only two options (Alcon brakes and Adaptive Cruise Control) and various interior trim and color choices. Details of how my XKR is equipped are in my signature.

I've been checking Cars.com since November 2010 on a regular basis to find other 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertibles that are equipped exactly like mine. To date, I know of only one. Click: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ertible-45154/

So in 6 months of ownership I have seen 2 F types and maybe 3 other XKs. I used to see 1 or 2 X-100s a week. Unless you are really looking you don't see to many XFs or XJs either. I see at least 10 Teslas a day in SF.

I have only seen one mid 2000's XK8 in last 15 years around here. However we are a very small market. A few XJ's some of which I sold. And a boat load of X and S types. Nearest dealership is 90 miles west in Twin Cities MN. I've seen quite a few XK's over there.

I have a black XJ for my daily driver and I've only seen five or six of those in the last 10 years. I just cleaned my car last Tuesday just after some bad weather (all the other cars were dirty) and it was sparkling clean. I was driving home from work on Tuesday this week and I passed a black one that was a couple years newer than mine and also sparkling clean, he jumped right in behind me and we 'wagon trained' down the freeway together for about 10 miles.
