How to switch puddle lamp bulbs
I have new LED light bulbs for the puddle lights on my review mirrors. Does anyone know how to open it up to switch them? I’m afraid of breaking something if I am not doing it right.

Hmmm. Tried doing it this way and the whole bottom housing of the side view mirror gets lose not just the light. Maybe it is different on the 2013. The bulb he suggests using is also a different style from the one suggested by 10xkr Dave for the puddle lamp. Now I’m getting really confused.

This is how I did mine also, the "Texas Traveler Way" :-) Maybe you should snap a pic of yours in case the 2013 is different.
Cheers,

Looks the same, as mentioned before it seems to take a lot of pressure, more than feels comfortable at first. Try to press in at a higher angle with the screwdriver and leverage downward as you press inward. Really hard to explain.
Hope that helps,

Yes, there is a picture of it in the referenced thread. Make sure you are hitting the release tab and not going further inside the housing. Insert your screwdriver into various positions of that opening, the spot where the driver goes in less than other spots should be the release tab.

Jdrasp,
Even after seeing TexasTraveler's post, I still found it difficult to get a screwdriver in at a downward enough angle to depress the tab, so I fashioned the tool pictured below, and it worked like a charm. You should be able to fashion something similar with a bent tip that will make it easier to get in the slot at the right angle to depress the tab. If you can get the right angle on the tab, it doesn't take much pressure to depress. If you're getting the whole bottom housing to move you're doing something wrong. Hope this helps.
