hi. I just picked up my 2007 xkr today and would like to know how I can tell if it has the standard or the optional alpine sound system. I know that I can call the dealer who's always serviced it to find out through the vin #, but if anyone can tell me an easier way, that would be great. tnx.

 

The cars using that system have 'Alpine' on the speakers fitted to the doors.

 

oh really? ok, I thought that all 07's xkr's had an alpine system (and all had the alpine logo on the door speaker grills), but one was a 6 speaker and the optional one was 8. tnx man.

 

To make certain, provide Jaguar with the VIN and they can give you a detailed list of all the standard and optional equipment fitted to the vehicle from the factory. Due to the age of the vehicle, they may not be able to provide information on any dealership installed accessories or options.

 

Alpine Premium Sound Package offers an eight-speaker Alpine system with 525 watts, Dolby ProLogic II surround sound and SIRIUS Satellite Radio

so if you go under settings you should see Stereo, 3ch., and Dolby II

 

I think the extra 2 speakers are the center and sub. You should have adjustments for those under settings also.
