Default I finally got my XKR

I have been lusting after this car for 25 years, and I finally got one yesterday.

2010 XKR Convertible. Black, black interior, black top, black wheels. It's mean. And...only 34k miles, so I can enjoy it a good long time.

I wil be working on a few issues with the assistance of you fine people.

- Defrost vent is broken
- Dash beginning to wave a little
- Improve audio system with Mr 12V solution
- Replace fabric top

But man does this thing sound great and haul ***!

Here is a pic...

Looking forward to chatting with y'all.

- 1991 XJ6 Vanden Plas
- 2010 XKR Convertible

You're certainly no mathematician, but you have great taste in cars.
I'll probably do the Mr12Volt this year sometime myself.

Yes, I realize this particular car is "only" 15 years old, but I have been wanting one since the late 1990s.

It looks pretty much just like yours, except my wheels are black and your grille is black. I will probably put the black grilles in at some point.

Congrats. Looks great. 25 years of waiting rewarded.
I wouldn't do black grilles. On a black or dark color car the silver gives the front some definition and character. Black grilles on a black car just make the entire front kind of look like a featureless mass, IMHO. I'm sure others will disagree. But to each their own. Do what make you happy with any mods. It will still be a beautiful XKR.

I changed from a black grille to silver. (Apologies for the large pics. Not sure how to post smaller ones).

Actually, my grill is the stock grey color. It's the shadowing that makes it look black in that photo.

Apologies to powelld91 for derailing his thread. I wanted to find a lower grille in the same style/pattern as my (and Cee Jay's) upper grill to replace the stock lower horizontal bar in the 4.2 XK. It's obviously a different shape from the XKR lower grille opening, and the only thing I've found is the chrome mesh upper and lower grille. Welsh Enterprises has them, but I don't want the mesh style. Am I searching in vain?
