I have Bitten the Bullet
Took the 2006 XK in for its yearly strive and MOT a couple of weeks ago.
I was aware that a couple of rear suspension ball joint dust covers needed replacing. That was last year but since then all of the rear suspension dust covers needed doing. My local garage stated that they wouldn’t just change the covers but only whole suspension units 6 in total ,
The car has been brilliant in the 15 years that I owned it. Together with the dust covers it would have needed new front brakes ,front tyres steering gaiters ,and a small Bit of corrosion on the rear subframe .
All together quite a pricey sum but all doable but not on a 20 year old car.Thought about another XK but really good ones still go for quite a lot of money.
I will miss it as I have traded it in for a low mileage mint BMW640i convertible with a full BMW warranty
So time will tell if Iregret It
I will miss the forums as they were always a near daily read.
Will probably still do a bit of lurking on heard and the UK version
Hopefully the beemer will fill a void

It did seem odd and disloyal leaving the XK in the dealers car park.
A bonus is that the UK road tax is now £195 as opposed to nearly £700 for the XK
Oh well ! all good things come to an end

so time will tell. My XK was going to cost me quite e few thousand pounds over the next year so unfortunately it had to go.
