Having said what I said, my wife has a (water-cooled) Porsche Cayman which she adores, and which has given no trouble at all in 36,000 miles.

It is true that any version of the 911 will be more expensive to fix than the XKR seems to be. I am constantly surprised at how little it costs to run my XKR and how cheap it is to service (Indie not main dealer). I'd go so far as to say that my XKR is possibly the best all-round car I have ever owned. My 911s were maybe faster but they were also noisier and more difficult to drive and not nearly as comfortable on long journeys. The XKR is also one of the most stunningly beautiful cars I have ever owned.

Interesting though this is, we are straying too far off topic and probably ought to cease and desist, before we attract Moderator attention.
Before we stop this conversation, I will add an anecdote. I've got a fairly wealthy friend who loves his car, but only ever buys new. He had a Porsche 911 in about 2005 - it blew up at 30,000 miles or so, then got another one which he sold in the credit crunch (forced sell) - he's now since fully recovered his wealth.
He came with me to Le Mans in 2017 when I bought my 07 XKR, and did half the driving. He fell in love with it, and was busy telling another Porsche owner how much better the XKR is than his 911. I think the looks were the biggest draw for him, followed by the engine. Because he only buys new he'll never be able to buy one (he had some bad experiences with 2nd hand so won't be swayed), but he will always plug for me to take the XKR whenever we go on our racing trips - prior to me getting it we always went in one of his cars.

The Jaguar X150 to me is one of the most gorgeous looking cars ever made.

It's either an aftermarket thing installed by previous owner, or something to do with your own phone. Since they're now bluetoothed together anything can happen with apps

aftermarket ruled out. I think you're right about the phone though.
