Hopefully have someone knowledgeable for the fix on this thread. On my 2010 Jaguar XKR the R appears when starting up and will flash on and off for the first 5-7 minutes and then it appears to work properly along with the radio.
Just installed new battery a few days ago.
If display or fuse you would think it would stay off, but it appears electrical in nature.
Any experiences with actual fix appreciated. I keep wondering if their is an end user reset that can be performed or software update that is sure to resolve.

I don't care if you have a 'new' battery or not. It's not fully charged.
There are literally 739 threads about a weak battery doing exactly what you say, and myriad other problems.
Charge your battery with an actual battery CHARGER (not a trickle or maintainer) for 24 hours and 95% chance you will be perfect.

 

A weak battery tends to make the unit stall at the R logo rather than flash on and off.
