Rates are all over the board. Just have to shop around, as mentioned.

I still have my youngest daughter (21) on my policy. Last time I shopped (last year) I got quotes from $1800 to $4800 per year. That's quite a spread for the same coverages!

Cheers
DD

From that link:
"Insure.com commissioned Quadrant Information Services to provide average auto insurance rates for 2014 models. Averages were calculated using data from six large carriers (Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, Nationwide, Progressive and State Farm) in 10 zip codes per state."
"9. Jaguar XK/XKR Supercharged Average annual auto insurance premium: $2,610/$2,854"
Yikes! That's outrageous! I'm paying almost 80% less - $576 - for my 2009 XKR Portfolio Cvt from AARP/The Hartford, who was not part of that survey.

Looks like price-fixing to me. Avoid those six carriers and shop around.

78 years old, clean record, no citations, no accidents, no claims. Heavy coverage $1500 per year for a 12 xk vert in Southern California driven about 13k miles per year.

Its funny but when I posted what I posted early on I forgot about all the other things that come into play. I have a squeaky driving record, 56 and was pricing full coverage, 500 deduct, 100/300/100, renter, one vehicle..... 1800 a year. Because Ive owned a used car business for 7 years I have lived in AZ I drive on dealer plates so I was rather shocked. They all (Ins co) told me, #1 multi car discount will be a huge plus, homeowners (buying a house later this year) and yes multi driver helps (getting married this year also). State Farm (whom I hate) quoted me $649 a year if I had all these other goodies. So for now I own the RR but still drive it on my dealer policy.

My point is I guess it just depends on who, what, where and how much coverage.

Thanks for all of the replies and I know it is different for a lot of us but just trying to get a sample of the highs and lows. This will be our 4th vehicle (only 2 of us) so it won't be a major driver. Our present policy has 2 cars and a truck along with our house policy. The Fcar was on a separate classic car policy which we will not have. The Jag will be added to the policy as the 4th vehicle. I guess we'll see when the time comes to add another car.

You should get a great price since all assets (property) can be bundeled for the best price. This is a major advantage that many people overlook.

I was surprised how cheap it was. I traded my 2013 camry in and my insurance bill went down.

PROPERTY DAMAGE - $100M/ACC

UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED MOTORISTS COVERAGE

PHYSICAL DAMAGE COVERAGES

$85/mo or roughly $1000/yr for full coverage on a 2007 XKR

Clean record, 28 years old

Haha, just kidding. Clean driving record... but I'm <30 so it's still fairly expensive.

My lawyer f***ed me!

Does everyone here shop for insurance companies merely by the premiums? I picked my insurance company (Amica) by the great customer service and the confidence I have in them in processing any future claims. I could never say that about my previous insurer GEICO...

Ive found insurance rates increase quite a bit the newer the car. 33 years old, perfect record, with homeowners insurance bundled. I use Nationwide, and am in California.

My past 2008 XKR, insurance was about $600 per 6 months. $250 deductibles, everything else standard.

2011 XKR jumped to near $800, same set up as above.

Traded the 11 and just bought a 2013 XKR. Insurance jumped to $1049 for 6 months. Ive since raised the deductibles to $500 each, which lowered the premium to $914 per 6 months.

After hearing the $1049 quote, I called All State who I was with several years ago just to get a quote. They came in at about $1500 for 6 months, makes me feel $1049 from Nationwide wasnt such a bad deal.
