Interesting.......
That...looks...awesome. I see they kept the basic body design, but added in the XF's grill, slightly modified. I also like the sort of feline slant to the headlights. If they make a drotop R version with the 510 hp (at least) motor and an optional proper manual gearbox no flappy paddle Formula one nonsense, I will more than likely be trading Fionna in for a newer model. Maybe I'll call this one Zoe.
But since they are no longer under Fords blanket ownership, I doubt they care if they compete with Aston. That said, I don't think they will put in a manual, but it won't be for this reason, its just that I think the market for a true manual in this segment is shrinking
Probably sad but true. It is amazing the amount of people who no longer know how to work a manual shifter. They are so much more fun once you know how. I hope that Jag and Aston become more seperate. I would like to see Jag become as good as it can be, not as good as it is allowed to be.
I have a feeling that is nowhere close to the real future. Why make a beautiful car ugly?

That would mean only a six year run on the current XK body style, compared to ten years for the prior XK8. It's almost a mea culpa from Jag saying they came up short on the design. I give them credit for stepping up and doing something about it. A lot of large companies don't do that, choosing to stick with business plans or products that just don't work in order to "save face", instead of actually fixing things and moving on. It's enough for me to consider getting one, in order to support their admirable decision!
I'll be prepared for some sticker shock, however. I'll bet it's north of $125,000, so maybe I should get that 2013 XK in 2015!
Thanks for posting that, Ghostrider!

Horrible design. Not harmonious. The side profile windows with the soft curves clash with the bold design lines and creases of the rest of the car. The front fascia with it's ricer...err I mean racer boy cut outs on each side smack of cheap aftermarket body kit. I will lay money on e fact that this will not make it into production as shown ....
Sure looks like the XE concept to me, in fact I'm pretty sure this is an exact photo of an XE mock up I've seen on a another site.
Here's another mock up of the XE:

Is the XE the two-seater that the TaTa chairman wants produced to compete with the Boxter, etc?
Maybe I'm just a sucker for provocative lines, but I think the '13 XK looks tough!
Has quite a bit of Aston Martin in it, doesn't it?

Yes, but it's the 911... Some are calling the possible up coming XE "the 911 killer".
Here's another take on the 2012 XE, definatly different from the 2013 XK:

I hope they do better than that for the XE. That rendering looks terrible to me. It looks like that would compete more with a Lexus IS250 convertible than anything by Porsche at probably double the price. I much like some of the other design pics that are floating around the web.
The comments below the article say it is a photoshop compilation of several vehicles, so it's probably not very accurate. An artist's rendering, based on something from Jaguar PR, would be a better find, like with the 2013 XK (which I think is totaly hot!). I just was trying to respond to some posts about the differences between the new XK and XE.
I think that the 2013 XK, as proffered in the PR release, will give the Maserati Gran Tourismo and Aston martin Vantage a run for their money. Maserati showrooms have been glutted with unsold 2009 and 2010 GT inventory since the 2009 model year (same for Aston Martin), even with 25k cash back deals off MSRP.
