Working on a blue/ivory 2007 convertible. It seems that at some point the PO either had a water intrusion problem from the rear quarter windows or left them down in the rain. Long story short, the vertical part of the interior quarter panel trim is shot. Based on the parts diagrams I've looked at, it seems that Jaguar only sells the entire quarter panel trim piece as a unit, and the panels are not interchangeble between the convertible and the coupe due to some minor differences in the rear portion of the panel, which makes sense due to the interface location of the soft top vs the coupe roof.
But...when I mess with the panel in the car, it seems like it might be 2 pieces...the "vertical post" portion of the trim that extends down from the seat belt opening, and the rest of the panel that is the "side wall" of the rear seat.
Has anyone actually taken those panels apart and can confirm if part C2P17406LJM (for the 2007 coupe) and C2P17419LJM (for the 2007 convertible) are actually all 1 piece or of they are 2 interlocking panels that are just sold as 1 part number unit? The first picture below is the coupe, the second is the convertible.
The underlying reason for asking is because there is a 2007 coupe in the local pickapart yard with those panels intact. I'm trying to confirm whether the junkyard parts are usable to replace the damaged portion or if I need to stay on the hunt for a convertible-specific entire panel.
So i discovered after a bit more research. Got impatient and bit the bullet on used left and right side panels that i happened to find in caramel online.
