I'd be more inclined to just get the one for the earlier years and see if it fits.
Only out $40 if it didn't work.

I was tempted to go this route, but hesitated because cutting the tailpipe could have gone horribly wrong with my limited resources!
I kept my eye out for an XKR back box and eventually struck lucky - I am vert happy with the result, the sound is just fantastic!

Just had these installed yesterday. A bit bigger than I had thought I wanted but, I'm very happy with them.

XKR box is the way to go! But if you like the very silent XK sound that’s ok too, just order a set of Monza or pacesetter tips and it’ll look exotic. If you want to splurge on some really great looking exhaust tips, I’d get a set of Ansa tips.

The only XKR back box I've found on Ebay is $582.50 shipped.

The Adamesh stage 1 cat back is $556 shipped from the UK.

That's about $120 US. Can't come close to that on this side of the pond.

XKR back box cost me $300, plus about $50 in gas for my truck, and $30.00 in PA Turnpike tolls

Still seems like quite the deal for finding one here in the US.
