Jaguar to Launch Cheaper Models
Boy, some feel the butthurt real quick around here. I guess I have thick skin or something, because I just laughed when a guy described the '88 BMW 320 I had in the UK as "the best built MkII Ford Escort he had ever seen". The UK chaps will be chuckling over that one, I'm sure.
Mikey, I speak as I find, and if that does not suit you best put me on your ignore list. I am something of a student of design and engineering, and when I see something I don't like, I am not afraid to tell folks. I'm the same on SUVs, trucks, cameras, and even firearms.
Now, if you think I laid it on with the S-Type, you should hear my full, unbiased opinions on other cars I have test driven or even owned. Truthfully, if you don't have a day to spare, NEVER, EVER ask me about the 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe I owned. Everybody gets some from GM, the EPA, through the state of California and on down to the dealership.
Then there were the demolition jobs my late wife did on the early Mercedes ML and the V6 Porsche Cayenne. I suspect the salesmen who got the full brunt on those days racked up some hefty analysts' bills.
Edited to add: How interesting that the Mods here have blocked the word you can make up of steeler (the other spelling) and ship. As Spock would say, curious.

I think that was added as we all got a little tired of the bashing. Hint hint.
You and several others have missed the basic point. You may think that somebody's baby is the most hideous looking child you've ever seen. That doesn't mean that you need to go up to the parents to express your opinion, not does it infer that pulling out scads of research to prove that you're right will make it OK and the parents will thank you.
We all try to get along nicely here, if you get the drift.

you are trying to teach a cracker to be a Canadian. really not worth the bother. Rick Mercer is right.
That's what I drove to prom.
(Except it was late 80s)
But the girl was pretty.
Geeze...and Mikey is a "Regional Coordinator"?
I don't know if you need to be a "Regional Coordinator" Mikey.
Well, this thread has been very entertaining.
Let me end with this:
A group of blonde's were having a drink in a bar. The news was playing on a TV, and was showing the Pope kissing babies.
A caption at the bottom the TV screen read: "Pop kisses Brazillion babies."
One of the blonde's said, "Oh My! How many is a Brazillion?"
Well, so far we've been called elitist and now "crackers". So are we racists or elite racists?

You use the term "we" I sincerely apologize if I have offended anyone other than yourself. My point was that running down other members vehicles is impolite and unnecessary. That the amount one spends on a car is a measure of quality. You imply that anyone who doesn't drive the same vehicle as you must have a mental deficiency. I am a third generation Jaguar owner and know full well that our cars come with challenges. This forum has been an invaluable resource for those of us who are proficient with a wrench. I simply pointed out that you were rude and offensive to the hundreds of members whom you believe are driving garbage. When this was pointed out to to you in an effort to slow the insults you re-double your efforts to point out with facts what junk we drive. My comment to Mike was simply an inside joke, Canadians are know for their humility and politeness. I am only 1/2 Canadian so I failed to live up to the standard. This had turned into and incredible waste of time and effort. Buy the way my wife and daughter are both blonde, are you implying they are stupid. (just kidding my skin is a bit thicker that that)

Running down other members? Calling their cars garbage?
So now you are inventing things and putting words in my mouth. Those are things *you* have concluded in your mind. Are you abusing an illegal substance???
Ok...have a nice day.
