Jaguar XK Recall - Sensitivity of O2 sensors?
Was at my local dealership today for a treadplate issue - Basically the place where the plastic turns into bendable rubber like material is ripped (came that way). At any rate they told me there was a "Recall". He said it had to do with the sensitivity of the O2 sensor in the engine. At any rate I thought I would let everyone know... they are going to fix it pretty quick and I think its a software upgrade. Just wanted everyone to know. If you want to wait to get the TSB so you can call your Jaguar dealership and inquire I will get it later today. This was for my 2012 XKR....will ask him if my 2013 XKR-S needs it as well.

No BS - This is not to replace the sensors... its a software update regarding their sensitivity.
So its a computer dealio... anybody know what too sensitive of O2 sensors in the engine will do to the car? What am I to expect that is an improvement with this upgrade?!?!?
I know but it might take care of my CEL as I already moved the sensors further out of the exhaust stream.
I don't think you will experience anything, it just does not trigger the CEL as quickly. This is just for emissions, nothing else. I do not believe that the O2 sensor values will change the fuel/air ratio or anything, just alert you if the cat is bad. It just measures the value before and after the cat and expects results within a certain parameter.
Then again, I might be completely wrong on this ....

No CEL codes for me but the tuner dropped the base reading from my rear O2 sensors by -1.65 so the front and rear sensors now match in value. He said it was way too sensitive and was close to throwing codes even with the stock value.
So it makes sense that a software update can drop the sensitivity and fix your issue.

Thanks Max, I hope that is what this TSB is about. Are you running stock exhaust? How does it sound with that?
Wish I could get somebody to adjust that value for me too.
Ryan, do you have by chance the TSB number?
