IMO totally wrong and awful looking, looks like a stretched and lowered BMW 135i. I wouldn't swap an xkr for it, the vert or hard top ,yes but not this, not for me.
if Jaguar start making **** that looks like that, then they strived to lose me as a fan and i will lose all respect for the company smh
I had a F-type V8 S convertible last weekend courtesy of Jaguar. I agree the cabin is a little tight, especially the controls to open the doors; they are shaped and placed somewhat awkwardly for a person of my build (I'm 6' with 36" sleeve length arms). regarding distance from the wheel and pedals, I found the pedals to be placed just right for me with the seat back almost straight up and the seat cushion at the back of the track. I found the other controls to be a bit cramped and awkward to get to, but I think that would go away with time.
Regarding the rest of the F-Type, it screams and back talks like a Banshee which ups the fun level significantly. It handles like a dream on curvy, hilly two lane roads and its ride is much harsher than that of my XK. In addition it goes like a bat out of hell when you put the pedal to metal. In balance, I had a great weekend toy and really enjoyed it, but I'm glad to be back in my trusty 2012 XK vert.
if you have a regular XK,you need the XKR cause that will do more than a bat out of hell.It will show you what a Jag out of Hell is!
I'm now into my fifth year with my 2013XKR (bought new in 2016). It has about 44k miles on it and is a real pleasure and much different than my earlier two XKs. The ride is somewhat stiffer, but that is more than compensated for on the twisties. I regularly go onto the back roads in the Santa Monica Mountains (20 minutes from where I live). I drop the car into dynamic and super and enjoy the mostly empty roads during the week.
Elite's and Eclat's are beautiful cars... Wait until you need an Elite specific part. Lotus dealer will give you the Vincent Price laugh when you ask "can you get a replacement part?" Lotus dealers can barely get parts for the M200 Elan.

I am a recovering Lotus addict, having owned five Lotus Esprit from a 1980 Esprit S2 to a 1999 Lotus Esprit V8.
-Aston Martin DB9
-Bentley Continental GT
-Lotus Esprit (Giugiaro Turbo, Turbo SE, S4, S4S or Sport 300)
Legit I need more free time and a bigger garage, but this year I'm putting out bids to address the garage issue. I can get examples I'd like of each for like $30-35k. I want to add 3 car spots to my 2 car garage and add a lift first. It appears mosesbotbol has exquisite taste and I'd love to pick your brain when I get closer to a purchase. The problem is that I don't want to get rid of either XKR; although I am getting rid of the XJR as I never fell for it like I did my XKRs.
This is most likely my next one Many utilitarian similarities to an XK convertible. Similar size:
* 2016 Ferrari California*
Yes, that would be a close similarity. At $150k USD isn't quite in the same venue, and the yearly costs are probably ten times the cost.
It's a good choice for those who can swing it.
I may have missed it but I didn't see any mention of the Maserati GranTurismo in this thread as an alternate GT??
I've read several write ups where they list pros and cons. Exterior styling, interior amenities, and exhaust note are usually highly rated but maintenance and availability of parts not so much.

The Lotus Elan M100 was produced 1989–1995, the XK X100 was produced 1996–2006, try finding a security locking module for an XK, they've not been made for 10 years.
I too am a recovering Lotus addict having owned various Esprits from 1981 to 2004, amazing cars, pictures on my web site.
