Default Jaguar XKR Mesh Hood Louvers, Yes or No

Has anyone fitted these vents to their xkr. If so any pictures. Was thinking of getting a pair, any views on this item welcome, whether it would suit my car or not, price is steep, are they worth it? would be going for the stainless steel finish, link below,

I have the insert with the chrome mid section that says :"Supercharged". I also saw it yesterday at my dealer's parts display. The attached picture truly does not do it justice as I think it significantly improves the look of the hood by the contrast. It almost introduces a "jewel" quality to the looks.

Since you already have chrome trim, I would say "YES" it's a go!

I am sure they will look nice against the dark bonnet.

I am also sure there are aftermarket vents at a reduced cost that would meet your specifications and looks vs the dealer part.

I saw these vent covers at Mina when I picked up quite a few other parts there a couple of weeks ago. I know I want to do something with the oem covers, either paint a contrast color (like red), wrap, or replace with Mina's. And whatever I do on the hood vents I would probably like to do the same on the side vents. I get my car back from all of the mods on Monday afternoon, and then I'll decide.

IMO, I'd rather chrome down than chrome up. Adding chrome is so 2000s...

Mine came with the car when I purchased it but, I just spotted the same one at the dealer's parts display yesterday. The center bar was chromed the rest was in grey primer, to be painted to the color of your hood.

You mentioned you used the chrome supercharged piece off of your original louver. Do you know if this piece can be purchased separately . Also did you glue or tape it on the new louver. Looks good.

I'm fairly certain that the chrome "SUPERCHARGED" strakes are not available separately. That piece is part of the OEM "Hood Louvers With Chrome Strakes" accessory available only from your Jaguar dealer. See this link and scroll down: Customize Your Jaguar XK, XKR & XKR-S - Exterior Accessories | Jaguar USA

It's an x100 model, so not quite the same but I went with the body painted mesh and bright stainless R strip.

Seems to be one of those polarizing items, either people like it, or hate it.

In any case, that's more or less what they look like on a back bonnet.

I purchased the ones from jag it comes with the painted primer surround and the chrome Supercharge piece. Then I purchased the C/F surrounds from Mina.which have the name supercharge embossed in them, but I liked the chrome better so i removed them from the jag ones and installed them over the embossed C/F ,the ones from mina are identable to the jag ones, they install with 3 studs in the bottom. As I seid I beleive Mina also supply a chrome supergharge piece, but I have not seen it. I think the whole vent in chrome would be to much. Imhp

Right, was talking to Geoff at Adamesh and he can do the full chrome with R for £185.00, picture 1.
The other type with chrome supercharged strake is £250.00 only from jaguar and i have to paint the surround after.
Which one to get is the problem to suit my black color, answers needed.

Wow! it sure adds a custom look to your car if thats what your looking for, I have the standard chrome "supercharged" vents and they do add a certain "je ne sais pas' (i don't know) but the Mina ones add's that extra touch!! IMO

Really like the R vent, vs. Supercharged.

However, having the word "supercharged" and seeing that makes the car sound very "mean". Both Adamesh vents are nice.
