The article is just click bait for ad revenue. Who predicted smart phones in the '80's or even early '90's? All we got were promises of flying cars...

All these far-future concepts is make-work for liberal arts graduates. Electric or not, people still have to get in and out, stop, steer, and park these things. Plus, they have to pass crash testing. As such, these are always unrealistic nonsense.
