Default Jeremy Clarkson's XK Rave

Does anyone know how to get hold of a decent copy of Jeremy Clarkson's rave about the New XK which was on Top Gear in 2006?. The post on YouTube is pretty bad quality and apart from the raving, there's some nice shots of the Jaguar and some great scenery....

Try my copy. I took it from the original program ages ago so it has the section where they send it round the track as well:

clarkson is such an advocate for jaguar. he would praise a turd as long as it had a leaper on it. he's as biased about it as Car and Driver are towards BMW

I find most British auto journalists show some allegiance to their native marques, followed by Italy 2nd. Fair enough as that is the order I put them and I am American...

Actually, he had some hard words for the X150.

Same here. Thanks for that mate, most informative post I have read here, because, the most popular, significant, balanced, authority on cars, Clarkson, told us all we need to know and I missed it. And I have watched everything that fellow boarding school brat ever made, but the show on my car. Well, my exact car solved categorically the issues he highlighted.

It was bittersweet bliss seeing him explain 367hp made a difference over 300; if only he had the 510hp coupe to begin with. It only further underscores how unsupported and ill-timed the British car industry is.

Its not allegiance or even empathy, its one of the conundrums of British design, one almost has to be British to get it. Everyone and anyone can get a loud red car or one from a nation which makes it a point to ensure its reputation for engineering dominance walks a few steps in front of it.

Pretty ridiculous for a stocker that the red car was laying two black tracks on the road and would go up to 175 mph.

The X150 XK first appeared on Top Gear in the Season 7 Winter Olympics Special. You can purchase this from Amazon and watch anytime you want. It has some great antics of the XK on a frozen lake as well as in an ice rink.

The proper road test is Season 8, Episode 2, which also available for purchase from Amazon.

Sometimes these episodes are available to stream for free from Amazon or Netflix, but I've found it well worth buying these two episodes.

Enjoy!

Peter

Last May I bought my first Jaguar XK, it turned out to be the Silver Convertible in this Top Gear episode. Not quite sure if having a film of Jessa driving your car is a good thing or not😀 But a great talking point.

That's pretty cool that they keep the same tag. Normal for over there?

In the UK, the number plate stays with the vehicle. Years ago there was also a log book that listed the previous owners.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that the number plate can be more valuable than the vehicle. Perhaps a UK member can elaborate.
