Default keyfob part no for 2014 XKR

My car only came with one and would like to have 2

£210 for a new one from main dealer and they have advised that the part number is C2P17156, £60 for reprogramming

Now I can get that part number on-line used for £75 inc delivery and dealer is happy t reprogram that, however all sellers are advising that the part number is only for up to 2012 registered vehicles, as per this ebay seller:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REMOTE-FO...IAAOSwIYxbYWmj

Anyone replaced there's recently?

Also where do I find the part no on the fob, is it inside?

Until I read your question I thought my 2014 fob was the same as my previous 2007.

JEPC lists multiple channel, single pack and single channel. The P/N you have been given is for the single pack.

With these options, clearly there are differences so you aren't being fed a line.

I would be inclined to just go with the one from the dealer.

The fobs supposedly have to be unregistered from the previous vehicle otherwise it can't be used on another one so you may end up wasting time and money getting a second hand one. I have seen reports of some people successfully getting them reset though.

Well I've not gone with the dealer fit option but chose one of Ebay for £75

Even the ebay seller was surprised his fobs ( C2P17156) would fit, he advises that they have all been 'unlinked' from their previous cars and he's even supplied me with a new Duracell battery.

Local Indy to me charges just £35 to reprogram the fobs, so even if it doesn't work I've only wasted £110 and will then go to the main dealer who has ordered it in for me.

Only not choosing dealer option as the lady in service was downright rude

1) They advise me she left a message on my voicemail - when I don't have voicemail
2) She said she would book it in but that they don't have the part...a little @rse about face IMO as it's a 10 day wait for the fobs
3) When I questioned the logic of no2 she accused me of being rude (I think as she'd been caught in a lie in point 1), so then asked her if I'd raised my voice or used any expletives?
4) Called dealer principal (who I've known for 14yrs as he wanted to by my X100) and asked him if he's ever heard me being rude...he answered 'no your always calm and funny, I'll have words'
