Default Limited Slip Diff?

So I have an 08 XKR (portfolio ed.) which I track occasionally. I've been reading that a limited slip diff is pretty much a prerequisite for better handling and take-off through corners. Its surprising to me that Jag didn't fit an LSD as standard but I understand the XKR-S and 2010 and newer XKR's have it.

Does anyone have any thoughts (or better yet experience) of fitting an LSD to an 07 or newer XKR?

Would an LSD make any noticeable difference to everyday driving? Are there any down sides to fitting an LSD?

I'm somewhat concerned that systems such as the TCS or ABS may do odd things or incorrectly report faults due to the LSD causing (the desired) change in behaviour of the rear wheels while cornering, especially in track day conditions. Is this a legitimate concern?

I see Quaife have an LSD for 2007+ XKR for about $1500. I have heard that Quaife are a highly respected brand. Would it be better to explore the possibility of retro-fitting a (probably much more expensive) 2010 Jaguar LSD?

Thanks guys,
JustNiz

Default follow up...

Just to follow up on my own post... According to a Jag specialist I know, trying to retrofit a Jag LSD from the 2010 XKR would be basically unworkable.

Back to the questions about the Quaife LSD then. Anyone?

Quaife is a very reputable brand. Maybe contact them to ask if and how it is compatable with the car's DSC system. They may say the DSC doesn't know or care anything about the differential or presence or absence of an LSD, but rather simply whether wheel slip is detected. The latter would make sense to me, and therefore be useful in all DSC modes, and all driving conditions.

Take a look at the following thread starting at post #14. Mike V has the Quaife LSD installed.
