Lot of error codes after vacation
Hello everyone. Back in October, I was in the UK for 10 days. I did have my car on a ctek, but think maybe the connection was loose from the ctek extension cord, because, I had several error codes popping up on the dash on the first drive when I got home. I replaced the battery and the car has been fine since. Perhaps she was angry that I went to her home country without her??
So the errors that came up were: engine system fault, cats system fault, DSC not available, P2135 throttle/pedal position sensor/switch a/b voltage correlation, P2105 throttle actuator control system engine shutdown
When this happened the car obviously shut itself down, I was luckily on roads where I could put on my emergency flashers and pull to the side. I would shut the car off, get out, lock the doors, and get back in and the car would run for a while before doing it again. When I was finally in a parking lot where I could take a look at things, it occurred to me that there were too many things flashing all at once, and it seemed to scream "battery" to me. So I disconnected the battery and reconnected. The car asked me to reset my brakes, and I was able to drive all the way home without incident. The next day, all the same warnings. So I bought a new battery and everything has been fine for over a month
The first lesson being when there are a whole lot of sudden errors all at once, check the battery first before you go too crazy trying to fix things. But the real lesson is probably when you go on vacation or to England don't tell your Jag, she will get jealous and act out
hope this experience helps others.
