Default MAF circuit code and some questions

Wife calls yesterday and says the CEL went on while she was driving home. I tell her to watch the message center for alerts and pull over if she feels anything out of the ordinary or gets an alert. She makes it home ok. when I got home I put on the code reader and get this:

P010C Mass or Volume Air Flow B Circuit Low - No sub type information.

I start poking around and can't find the MAF so off to the service manual... Find out there are 2, mounted in each air cleaner box. While I was trying to find the air box, I noticed this on the driver side (see the green wire broke loose):

This harness goes down towards the air cleaner box so I assume this was part (or all) of the problem. I managed to solder the wire back on (not sure how long it will last) and clear the code.

So now the questions for you smart fellers:
1. What is the Air Flow Circuit B mean? Since there is also a code for A, I assume one MAF is A and the other is B?

2. It took about 5 tries to clear the code with the Torque app. First I was doing it with the engine running but I found online that it should be done with the ignition on, engine off. True?

3. Even with the Ignition on, engine off, it took 2 more tries to get the code to clear. What is the procedure for clearing codes? I could not find
anything.

So I got the code cleared and let it idle for about 5 minutes but I have not done a drive cycle yet (letting her sit today). Hopefully the code won't return. If not:

4. I assume the best way to get to the air cleaner boxes are to remove the shroud under the front bumper?

thanks!

Shemp, the manual shows to remove the wheel and then the plastic fender liner to get to the air filter box. I was able to get to mine without removing the wheel, I bent the liner out of the way. The MAF/MAFT sensor is mounted on the back of the filter box, upstream of the filter.

The shop manual? I couldn't find it in there. I'll look again. I'll also check the user's manual tonight if it's there. But thanks for the info!

edit: Duh, I found it. Thanks.

2 days and no codes returned. Looks like I might be ok.

I'll also mention that this wiring harness on both sides were broken loose from the anchor point. The friction push pins were worn out. The vibrations must have been what broke the wire. I zip tied each harness to the mounting point for the time being.
