Default Mina Gallery Exhaust Question...

Had it installed a couple of weeks ago. Sounds fabulous, looks incredible.

I was playing tonight and just wanted to listen to the exhaust note. While static in "P" i ran it through 3, 4 and 5k rpm. At 5500 rpm the exhaust started barking and despite the amount of pedal, even to the floor, it would not go past 5500 rpm.

Is there a limiter? Thoughts?

Best regards,

So you really like the sound of the Mina? I've been considering it for my XKR but another member posted saying they don't like the sound.

Can you post some clips?

There is a limiter which restricts high rpm's when the engine is not under load.

Default P is limited

Yes, Park is limited lower than redline.

Anyone install the Mina on an XKR?

The sound does make more of a statement than the stock exhaust. Initially I thought it covered up the 1200 rpm drone but it actually exacerbates it somewhat so around town I spend a fair amount of time in sport mode. Now, THAT is a nice sound. I can understand why some would consider it a tad loud. If you downshift a gear or two, your neighbors will know you're home. Guess it's personal taste.

I do have a sound clip but have no idea how to post it. Yup, technically challenged. If you pm me your email I'll try to send it to you.

Best,

On an XKR the limiter is at 3500 - and very nasty it sounds too.

Best,
Yes, that is exactly my experience. The 1200 rpm drone in my car has been extended and made louder to 1500 rpm with the Mina so, I go to sport mode as well to avoid that range.

I am thinking about either getting the dual resonated XKR mid section exhaust or getting an other XK midsection, cutting the single resonator out and putting it into my XK to make it a dual resonator setup. Perhaps the dual resonator will make it just right with the Mina.

I wonder of the XKR midsection is a direct fit into the XK? It looks like it may be.
