Navigation setup issue - It can't even find Florida
So, I got the 2010 XKR home from Tennessee and am having trouble setting navigation up. It seems to still have the previous owner's TN info in it. How do I erase and set it up for our location in FL?
I never use the nav but we were poking around with it last week and found the PO's address as well as many places he/she frequented, including family. Most were local so I thought that was odd they needed nav at all.
BTW, these all survived thru a battery disconnect/change.

That's the weird part, FL does not show up. Is this one of those DVD deals where FL is on one DVD and TN is on another?

Go into the nav setup. See the map of the US and pick your state location. Did you get an owners manual.
I thought the DVDs were segregated as East and West but I may be wrong. Might be worth a try if you have the other DVD...
If that's the case, dont sweat it, I will send you a copy of my DVD.
I think they have done some weird copy protection on them. My 2012 NAV DVDs seem to have ~6.9GB of data which exceeds the capacity of a normal 4.7 GB SS/SL DVD. I can read the complete DVD with my SS/SL reader/writer so I don't think they are dual layer DVDs.
Are you able to copy the NAV DVD's? How?

(unrelated) have you ever used dvdshrink. its been a very long time for me. Back then you could shrink movies on to single dvd.
I think DVDSHRINK works on stuff that can accept some loss like videos, photos, and audio files. The NAV system is going to want the EXACT data, not something downscaled.
That apparently is the problem. Only one DVD came with the car and it's not the one with Florida. I appreciate the offer and will send you a PM
Makes sense the DVD would be locked somehow. I'll check with Jaguar and I'm sure they'll have a solution. Thanks for the offer!
You probably figured out that there are two DVD's, one west and one east. The west DVD, that sounds like what you have, stops around Ohio and TN. If you remove the DVD from the player in the trunk, it lists the states it covers. You "should" have gotten both with the car but some are always available on ebay.
If you are going after a disk, suggest getting the newest available from Volvo.
