Default Navigation system

I am checking out The Navigation system on my newly acquired 2009 XK. I can't find a way to cancel the destination I first chose at my departure, should I change my mind and decide to drive to another place. An easy way to shut down the system seems to have eluded me also. I can't find this topic in the manual that came with the car. That manual also reads that the screen should have an entry for a zip code, when programing a destination. The system in the car eaads "Emergency" where the zip code should be, how can I enter a zip code ?
TY In advance for your help

If you see the "EMERGENCY", then the car is in motion. That's the Nanny Mode. Were you stopped when that happened? Destination entries (and a lot more stuff) can only be entered/changed while the car is fully stopped.

TY for your comment on my problem, Cee Jay. When I first tried to program the car was in my driveway engine off, still the same emergency message same if running. When I tried to cancel same thing, parked, engine running, then engine off. Same result = nothing.

Well, huh...
OK, the next thing I would try would be to disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and charge the battery for several hours. Do you have a battery voltage tester? MANY electrical problems stem from a low battery condition. I've not heard of THIS problem before, but who knows?
Also, before you reconnect the negative cable, also remove the Positive battery cable, then touch the two cables together for a few seconds. This resets all the volatile memory, so it may knock some sense into something somewhere.

Do you have the User Manual for the car? Maybe following step-by-step would help you out. I'm no NAV master by any means, so maybe something in the book would help.
If you don't have the manual, go to the main forum page for the X150, and look towards the links at the top of the page. Maybe even in the STICKIES: on the top lines, I can't remember where exactly. A free online copy is available there.

TY I will try your suggestion about removing the batt cables first. I do have the manuals, this problem is not covered. I was thinking about a reboot, I have the original 2009 DVD for the Nav system, maybe that will help also, I'll give both a try. Thanks again.
