I've been reading the various threads about this subject. Can someone give me the correct Volvo disc set part number for the US? Personally I don't care about the voice. I'm just tired of it looking like I'm driving across a field because they have moved a road. My car is a 2008 XKR. Thanks!!!

Did you read this thread from the beginning? If so, you would have found the answer to your question in my Post #5. Click on the blue link and the Volvo part number is in that linked thread in my Post #141. That entire thread is worth reading.

Hello!
yes, I read the entire thread. I just wanted some verification before I drop $200 on this disk set. After your post number 141 there was some additional discussion that kind of muddied the water. Plus the website to order the discs doesn’t give much of a description.
i didn’t want to end up with a UK set or a set for the US west coast when I’m in Michigan and Florida.
thanks!!

Correct me if I am wrong however going to that Volvo site the Nav disc only goes up to 2011?

Why pay $191 for that when you can buy the Jaguar Nav disc 2011-2012 for $199 which is the last year they made them.

That’s why I wanted verification.
after more research it appears that the “2011” thing mean that it will work on CARS that are 2011 or older, not that the map update is from 2011. At least I hope that’s correct!

The description of that Volvo nav disk in the website I linked is for the model years of Volvo cars that it fits. It has nothing to do with Jaguar model years. I'm pretty sure that it works in all X150 models from 2007 through 2015, and the maps are newer than those on the last disk from Jaguar.

AFAIK, the most current maps for our X150 models are on that Volvo disk, but they're several years old and may already be obsolete in certain locales. Your cellphone has the latest maps.

Yep, I got my disk form Stuart's link. It's 2017 disk meaning the last updates are from 2016 creation of the map. Per Volvo, there will be no more disks going forward. It will work fine in your 2008. You will not get a British accent voice for direction, even though you can select it, it will be silent. Maybe the Swedes were ticked at the Brits for some reason, who knows. American accent only. If your road was built in 2017, it will still look like you're driving through a field.

I have used Google maps and Android auto with my Samsung mobile phones for the last three years and only go into the built in GPS when I want to find something in the immediate vicinity. Suggest you get Google maps and buy a mount that will fit into the CD slot with a magnetic head for the mobile phone and then you will have the latest roads, quickest routing and current traffic at your convenience.

My wife is one of those die hards who refuses to get a smart phone. So she uses the nav in all of our cars.
plus, cell phone service in our area of Florida is horrible.

I use the phone as well. This was in a fairly developed area. Hahaha.
