Need help identifying an aftermarket module (airplay or rearview camera)?
I recently purchased a 2007 XK coupe (36k miles) that had an overheated color LED display (between speedo and tach) and a flashing NAV/Infotainment touch screen. Thanks to this forum I replaced the LED display with a new screen from ebay (from China). That works great now. It took the better part of a year for me to be able to fix (or replace enough parts) the NAV/Info screen from flashing. Thanks to this forum, I finally replaced the whole dash mounted NAV/radio/AC control electronics from a 2009 XKR which didn't fix the flashing screen. I did a little more reading and finally replaced the three modules under the rear hatch (DVD/NAV player, Satellite radio receiver, and bluetooth/phone module) and this fixed the flashing. I then went on a month vacation to celebrate before something else goes wrong.
The 2009 XKR had three modules under the rear hatch (NAV/DVD player, bluetooth/phone module, and some sort of after market video or audio interface module. The salvage yard send me the three modules and metal rack, but no interface cabling. So I just used the DVD module and bluetooth module from the 2009 and used my 2007 Sat radio receiver. All works now.
Attached a pictures of the aftermarket module. Can someone help me identify the module? My stock 2007 xk does not have rear view camera nor a cell phone for music. Is it practical to add either or both of these? Does this module help with either of these additions?
Without any additional marking on the unit, you’ll probably need to open it up and see if there’s any markings inside or on the circuit board.
