Need help with MAF sensor
Hi guys,
Be kind, remember, I am still learning how to do stuff
I posted to a different thread a month or 2 ago about my CEL on and error code of p0101. I have done a few things to try to diagnose the error. The error comes and goes at random. I did replace the engine air filter on driver side. I am now fairly certain it is the MAF sensor. I wanted to clean the sensors and throttle body. To see if maybe they are just dirty. I found a diagram to show me where the sensors are on this link http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Elec...KR%2010_23.pdf.
But was hoping someone could offer advice on the best way to get to them?
Thank you.

Thanks cee jay. That's what I figured, but was feeling lazy and hoping for a simpler way. I will not have time this weekend, but will probably give it a try next weekend. I will update in a few weeks if the CEL stays off after a cleaning.

hmmm, I have replaced the air filters twice... always with OEM matched pairs. I suspect your flow from one side is better than from the other side due to your filter changing habits. In fact, I wonder if the 'non-matching' air flow is a source of your issue...
Each time I've changed the filters I've cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner. Then have had done complete system shutdown (touched detached positive lead to negative terminal) then a long drive.
Though I've cleaned the throttle body on the XJR, I have not done it yet on the XKR... but a few have informed us of their perceived benefits, so I'm considering the task this year. There are 115,000 km on my car.

Sorry I should have been clearer. I changed the 1 air filter after the error started showing up. I suspected that the issue was with bank 2. I Will take your advice and change the other filter when I go in to clean the sensors just to be sure. Thank you.
