My passenger seat belt is twisted, so I need to remove the lower bolt beside the seat that screws into the body frame. The service manual says to discard it and use a new screw.
What I can't determine is the part number for this screw and how to procure it. I think it s a T65 Torx, but can't be sure from the information I found.
Anybody done this and have any guidance they would like to share?
If your seatbelt is twisted, it's nearly always because it's twisted INSIDE the take-up reel. Pull both top and bottom out as far as possible to the dead-stop. You'll probably find where it got folded somewhere.
Almost certain that the instruction to use a new bolt is yer typical OTT "safety" nannies at it again and it would be perfectly OK to reuse the existing bolt.
That said I agree with Cee Jay and it's prolly just a twist inside the reel.

I'll stretch the belt again to make sure, but I think I did this and didn't find the twist.
As for the bolt, I am sure it is fine. That said, it looks like it might cost $2, so I would just as soon replace it if I had a part number.
JaguarParts.com doesn't appear to list the bolt individually, and I don't need the full assembly.
My passenger-side belt had this same issue when we purchased the car last November. Figured out it was the buckle itself that was reversed. I simply made a shallow-angle fold in the belt, then slid the buckle over the fold until it was reversed on the belt. It's a bit difficult as the slot in the buckle is not much wider than a single layer of the belt. Keep working it and it will go through.
