Default New 2010 XK vs. CPO 2008 - need help!

As my signature says, I'm an aspiring XK owner...I've been watching the new/used market for the past 2 months and it currently looks like my options are as follows:

1) CPO 2008 XK Convert with ~25-30K miles for ~$43K

2) New 2010 XK Convert for ~$65K

I haven't test driven the 2010 because it frankly wasn't on my radar until I started seeing some recent deals out there. Is it worth the additional $? I intend to keep the car for 7-10 years and will recoup some of the difference upon resale (probably around $5K-$7K depending on how long I keep it). Assuming I'll save a few thousand on maintenance/repairs with a newer car...is the 2010 worth $10-$15K more than the 2008????

Thx in advance for your thoughts!

I just bought a pristine 2008 xk conv CPO black/tan with 23k miles for $47.5k (luxury and prem packages) on Long Island just outside of NYC. I find it hard to believe you could get a new 2010 for $65k. But IMHO if you could and had the money I would say get the new one. Not only is it new, but the 2010 is the first year with the 385hp engine and the rotary gear selector. However, I plugged the 2010 into Edmunds with 5,000 miles and it says the CPO price is $74k, so once again I find it hard to believe someone is selling a new 2010 for $65k.

Thx for your input and I hope you enjoy your ride! I've seen dealers advertise a base 2010 XK convertible for $69K and I've even negotiated one down to around $67K...so $65K mmight be a little aggressive, but definitely doable in the high $60s. The problem is, there are only white and black ones left that I've seen out there and I am more focused on silver/lunar/vapour. I am now looking at 2011 demonstration models, which are starting to hit the market.

I actually prefer the looks of the L gate to the rotory knob (I haven't used the rotory knob yet), but there are a lot of other small features that I like about the 2010 model...we'll see what happens over the next few months as I'll be making my decision by end of summer.
