Default New 2013 XKR Detailed and Loaded for Delivery

2013 Jaguar XKR Ultimate Black on Black/Ivory (dynamic pack and performance exhaust) with tinted windows 35%(sides/back), clear bra (suntek, front and sides 12" up) and detailed. Loaded on trailer and ready for delivery.

I should have it Tuesday. I think it looks just stunning. Many thanks to Peter at Tint World, West Palm Beach for the great work on the tinted windows, clear bra and detailing. Also, the salesman, Ken, at the Bentley dealership came through at the end facilitating the extra detailing with Tint World, transport pick up, and sending me the pictures. However, I can't say much for the sales manager, Ralph, at Braman Bentley, he was only concerned for his numbers and was very impersonal.

Wow, that is nice.

Love the wheels.

Once delivered I am sure that you will want to sleep in it the first night of arrival. Make sure you close the garage door before going to bed a night. I am sure it will be the last thing you look it before turning in. I hope your wife understands.

Glad to hear that the issues have been resolved and the car is on its way. Judging from the pictures the short wait and hassle will be overshadowed by actually receiving and driving this beauty.

Good luck and happy motoring,

Albert

Glenn - Enjoy, I'm sure that you will find that the 2013 XKR is a significant improvement over your last XKR. The service manager at my dealership tells me that the 2012-13 XK series are the "best" Jaguars ever built.

Regards,

Ralph

Ultimate Black on Charcoal/Ivory. It was advertised as celestial black with none of the options (dynamic pack and performance exhaust) mentioned. I could tell it was Ultimate Black because my 175 having the same paint code "PEL" on the certificate of manufacture. The exterior trim is indicative of the dynamic pack and the topix report and a Jaguar dealer confirmed it had the dynamic pack and performance exhaust. I believe it has the same suspension, dynamic settings and exhaust as the XKR-S. It came standard with the bright pack which is a $4,000 option on the XKR-S. I can't believe Jaguar wants $4,000 to built an XKR-S with chrome trim/polished wheels when it is standard on the XKR.

It's going to be interesting to compare it to my sold 175 when it arrives.

They are polished 9" front 10.5" rear and fitted with Pirelli 295 rear tires. I can't say I liked the Dunlop's on the 175 they got very hard in cold weather with no traction. I'm very particular with my cars and can't say I look forward to daily washing the brake dust off the rims. However, once cleaned I can stand back and smile.

I'm considering two types of waxes Blackfire Blackice Hybrid Montan or Klasse. anyone have any suggestions. I used mother's carnauba 3 step on my 175 but it was a lot of work and left white residue on plastic trim and hard to get at areas. I also need to consider the clear bra area and don't want to see an obvious line from wax residue.

Gorgeous ride!! Congratulations.

Something to think about...
I don't know how strict the enforcement officers are in Canada but you may want to consider not having the front license plate mounted with holes drilled in the bumper. I requested that my JLR dealer NOT mount my front plate. It just looks so much cleaner/sharper without it. I've been driving 1-1/2 years and haven't been stopped by a cop yet. I keep it under the front drivers seat just in case.

Agreed.

In MA, a front plate is required and I haven't used one in a decade. I keep the front plate in the trunk. I got a parking ticket once of not having a plate, but that's it. I use double stick tape when it comes inspection time. You could mimic the front screws if the inspectors have a keen eye.

Yes. I agree the front plate is an eye sour. Where I live it is not require.

Congrats - looks like it's been worth the hassle.

I guarantee you'll notice the difference - it will be louder when you boot it, and it will feel firmer and the turn-in will be much sharper. You're going to love it :-)

Default Take a look

Don't want to spoil things for you but I think your missing an exhaust clamp on the Driver's side Catalyst where it connects to the mid-pipe. Might want to look into that.

On another note if that is the stock exhaust I find it very interesting Jaguar uses an X mid pipe and deletes the resonators for the XKR-S exhaust.

Thanks for your observations. I'll look into the missing clamp. Yes, I see the clamp marks on the pipe with the clamp missing. It could have fell off? Are you saying this is not the XKR-S exhaust or is with cross pipes. It is the stock exhaust. The car only has 300 miles on it.

Default Exhaust

I'm not doubting its OEM but I've only seen x-pipes as an aftermarket mod and find it interesting even cool that Jag would use this.
