Default New Hood Recommendations?

Hi all.

My 2009 XK 5.00 hood is letting my car down. Despite cleaning and colouring, it is the fold marks from 12 years of use that make the hood look bad, and the car old. I think the previous owner must have folded the roof up and down thousands of times while it was covered in dust or grit.

Having done a couple of jobs recently for a Jaguar garage, and seen newer cars with pristine hoods, I'm considering a new hood myself.

Has anyone here had a new hood fitted? If so, what was your experience of results, and who did you buy from?

My concerns are whether the heated rear window will look as good once bonded into a replacement roof, and whether the 'gutters' over the side windows will be as good as the originals.

All input/advice much appreciated.

I'd need this done in the South East of England.

Thanks .

On my side of the pond, we call the bonnet the hood and the hood the convertible top (or soft top / rag top). Replacement tops come with a new heated glass window attached to the top. I'm not sure if they come with a new interior liner, but you can reuse your old one if it's still in good shape. There's no need to pay dealer prices for a replacement top, as the GAHH aftermarket top is an excellent choice for much less money. I believe that they ship worldwide.

I just replaced my top with the GAHH version. It looks like OEM, includes the rear window but doesn’t include the interior liner. Highly recommended.

I need to do this on my 2010 xkr. Did you replace it yourself or have a pro shop do it? If you had someone else do it, how much did they charge? Thanks for your time
