Morning Everyone-

Just wanted to do a quick post as I am new member.

Picked up a 2012 XKR-S in white, 12K miles....seeing that I live in NE Ohio, it's now pretty much going to sit in the garage till Spring.

Will be reading through the posts to learn more about it and its personality. I had an idea of what I was getting in to before purchase...moved up from an M3 to this...torque monster in comparison.

Will certainly take advantage of this site as well as post questions as/if I have them.

Enjoy the weekend...
OhioMike

Welcome to the Forum and to XK ownership. No doubt you will enjoy the XKR for nine months of the year and the forum for the full year - good people providing great information and terrific fellowship. Enjoy the ride(s).

Welcome, I think you'll find the ride in the XKR-s quite a bit more sophisticated than that of the M3 even if it's not quite as "raw."

Great car, great forum.

welcome and congrats mike. I wonder if that rs was one being represented by the Porsche dealership...similar miles. looked like a very nice machine.

you will find the rs to have a tone of grunt and a lovely, elegant package wrapping the nasty 550 hp lump!

by stock in a good tire manufacturer because you will be roasting tires off that baby when spring begins

Cheers!!!

best,

Peter

I know what you are saying Peter....

Fortunately, new Michelin Pilots were installed a month before I purchased...I should get a least a year out of those huh?

Merry Christmas everyone....warm weather about to end here....washing it today and likely to now be parked till March or so.

Pilot Super Sports.... worst tires I've ever owned. Michelin paid ME over $600 so I could swap 'em out for some Hankook EVO2s. MUCH better.

Would the Michelins been my first choice? Not likely....but since they were just installed a month before I purchased, I'll take em.

I put Hankooks on my M3 last year....they were a very nice tire for the money!

I could not wait to get rid of my Hankook's, uquestionably the noisiest tires I have ever had on a car. Freeway driving was nearly unbearable! It's interesting how each of us experiences something so differently.

Were they the EVO2 version? Mine are nice and quiet. Also a HECK of a lot more grip than the funny little PSS ones.
