Default New X150s piling up at dealerships

I noticed my local dealer has 15 new X150s, with many of them being 2015 models. I am a little surprised to see this as I assumed there would be very few 2015 models delivered!

Are you guys seeing a similar trend? Is this one last burst before they take them out of production?

I may be wrong but I thought the 'final fifty' were already built?

During my visit last week, the nearest dealer had 3 2015's on the lot. I thought it was odd as well.

On the german website of Jaguar, the XK isn't lined up anymore as a model. Instead, the XE as a sport limousine is announced.

The limited edition of the XK are "XK66 One of 66". They are the 385 HP versions of the XK-series. No other XK-models are imported anymore.
So the XK becomes the status of a future collectable car.
I won't put mine in a garage though, gives me to much pleasure and chills!

At the 2 local Florida Jaguar dealerships near me, one has 17 2015 XKs (2 are XKRs) and the 2nd has 14 2015 XKs (5 are XKRs). There are 31 cars within a close proximity. I'm sure aggressive pricing will be available soon.

That's a crazy amount of XK/R's to set on 2 dealer lots so close to each other. Something has to give to move all of those cars--it's a small market.

I forgot to mention that those numbers don't include 9 new 2014 XK/XKRs and 7 new 2014 XK/XKRs at these dealerships.

I wonder if cars like the E-Type had trouble selling in their later days. Does anyone remember?

As a general rule.....when cars are popular when they are new, they do become classics and valuable when they age. example: XKEs,Healys,Many muscle cars (Late 60s-early 70s). The opposite is also relevant, when there are slow sales when cars are new, as the years past, their value although increasing are modest at best. example: Volvo 1800ES,Jensen Healey,BMW 3.0CS.

So which category does the X150 fall into? I don't ever recall X150s being hot sellers, although I didn't really start following them until a couple years ago when I was in the market for one!

I couldn't say, but I for one will not be here in 40 years to find out!

Sounds even worse than when I got mine. I bought my '11 in Feb. of 2012 just sitting there in the showroom with 11 miles on it. I had a dealership offer me plane fare and a night in a local hotel if I'd come buy their car (which I didn't take)... never experienced anything like that before, and I doubt I will again. There will be deals to be had for sure.

We can see that the heavy depreciation on our cars can bring down the values to approximately 50% or so of MSRP in 4 years or less. You can be sure that dealers will try everything to unload these cars. For those that are looking for the last "brand new" XKs very good deals are surely going to be out there for anyone that wants these cars.

PS. I remember when Infiniti haulted production of the Q45. You were able to go to the dealerships and choose an actual brand new never registered Q45 for the last 3 consecutive model years of production. That's how hard it was to move them. Now of course, if you could find the latest model year Q45s on the used car market, you become aware that they get scoffed up very quickly due to their scarcity and new found popularity.

My dealer has 35 XK, 20 XKR, and 13 F-type.

You never know. Wasn't the dino frowned upon initially? I think the XK/R will do OK but never really thrive.

Astons are certainly more exotic and yet anything after the DB5 (James Bond Car) and DB6 seems to plummet.
