Official: 2015 Jaguar XK66 Special Edition
"Designed exclusively for the German market and as the name suggests, limited to just 66 units, the Jaguar XK66 Special Edition is based on the standard XK Portfolio and commemorates 66 years since the XK120 was launched. As it is based on the Portfolio, it features the same 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine delivering 380 hp."
Enough questionable/returned parts on the shelf for 67 more cars..... Lets call it 66 to be safe.... and...Hey, let's sell them to the Germans!
Hummmmm..... Somehow I find a hint of logic to that concept....

Yawn - standard XK with some badges.
What irritates me (only slightly) is that these cosmetic "special editions" get some form of distinctive labelling, whereas my 75, which does have a great deal more than a standard XKR, has nothing but the sill plates to distinguish it. Unless you want to fit the OTT stripes, which I and many other owners don't. It would have been nice to have a '75' somewhere, just to make it identifiable from any MY11 Sports Pack.

I think I'll try copying the '75' logo on the sill plates, & get some small decals done so I can put 'em under the 'R' on the rear and maybe on the side vents.
Anything will shift if the price is right. The 'Dynamic R' they're offering here now has the full Dynamic Pack for the same price at which they were selling base XKRs last year. There are some good deals to be had.
I would not be surprised to see some interesting end-of-line deals in the US before long. Of course, the issue is: it's a big market, and you need to be sure demand won't swamp supply. Maybe another limited edition?
Particularly when the Germans put '19' in front of the '66' and come up with their loss of the soccer World Cup to England under dubious circumstances.
How many cars are Jaguar making again? They're coming home, I suspect...
Best wishes, Colin

If this had been announced in a week's time, I'd be convinced it was an April Fool.
