My, new-to-me, 2007 XK Drop Head Coupe. Not quite enough room yet in the toy box.

No, I'm not selling the T-34B. Will be moving out a 1977 MGB V8 conversion and a Honda GB 500 TT.

Cheers,

Seems a dark BRG, tan top and light tan interior. Probably have other names in the period sales brochures.

Cheers,

That color is called Emerald Fire. It's metallic and a lighter shade of green than BRG.

Maybe it’s the lighting, or my phone, but it looks to have more of a bluish tint than the Emerald Fires I’ve seen pictured before.

Thanks, I knew the marketing people had to have a unique name for it.

The picture was taken on a cloudy day. Not much blue to it that I can see. Looks almost black in the garage out of sunlight.

Looks like Botanical Green to me... Emerald Fire has way more metallic in it...

If you tell us the color code from the door placard, that will solve the question.

If it looks almost black out of sunlight, it is like BRG.

Botanical Green and Emerald Fire are both heavy on metallic flakes.

The BRG appears lighter than normal because the exposure was set to bring in detail of the interior of the hanger, and the car is outside. The light level the camera aimed for is making the green a lighter tint.

Emerald Fire is JRG with the gold metallic flakes in the paint changed to silver.

I'm not sure Botanical Green was available with the early cars, but it isn't a color I have done much research into either.

I believe BG was Japanese and can no longer be made.

This is probably Emerald Fire, note all the metallic flake reflections in this picture and compare to EddWeninger's.

Default Midnight Black

As we are talking about metallic flakes I figured out why Jaguar called it Midnight Black - when the sun picks up the flakes it looks like a midnight sky.

Good observation about the paint looking like the night's sky. However, paint code "PEF" a.k.a. Midnight Black Metallic was only available for X150's during US model year 2007. I believe what you have on your car is "Ultimate Black Metallic", which I believe is paint code "PEL".

Can you check the paint code on the driver door frame? Please report your findings.

You're right it's paint code "PEL" - Ultimate Black

Whatever you call it, it's beautiful. I'd love to see PEF and PEL next to each other in the same light. I suspect Ultimate Black is slightly darker than Midnight Metallic Black.
Cheers,

Peter

The color is very similar to mt Honda GB 500 TT, which only shows some green in bright sunlight:

You paint code HGD is British Racing Green. Emerald Fire Metallic is HHP.

Cheers,

Peter
