If I had a screw driver I would have pried off those clear Euro Side markers for my RS at home.........or at least bought you a pint.

I don't have the right to post my tired XKR convertible in such exalted company, plus for reasons beyond my control I haven't been able to clean the car since I've had it - just wash the brake dust off the wheels. Still, not bad from a distance:

That's the stock spoiler for an XKR I believe.

That's the SPEED PACK spoiler. It's a different package and not made for just an /R. If you notice, that car also has the three-piece front splitter and the added bits on the rear diffuser.

Wow! Now that's really interesting to learn. I knew the front splitter and rear diffuser on my car were the 'speed pack' (I thought it was called the 'aero pack') but I didn't realise the option included a different rear spoiler. I assumed all R's had that spoiler because that's what I'd seen on other cars I looked at. Now I'm wondering if all UK-registered XKRs had 'Speed Pack' as standard?

EDIT: I've looked at Nigel Thorley's book and I'd got it all wrong. I don't think my car has 'Speed Pack' (much as I wish it did). Speed Pack looks like it was introduced after my car was made and comprised a re-calibration of engine and transmission management to increase top speed to 174, the bigger rear spoiler and revised front splitter, AND sticky-out side skirts which I don't have, red calipers which I don't have, Kasuga wheels which I don't have, and a sort of wrap around body coloured add-on at the rear which I don't have. Also, @Cee Jay , the book says it was an XKR only option, and seems to imply it was for the coupe only. So as I said, I wish I had the Speed Pack but I don't think I do. Maybe my rear spoiler was fitted by a previous owner.

That Speed Pack duckbill spoiler is standard on the 2014 and 2015 US market XKRs, just as the front chin aero is.

Can't get a Speed Pack on a non-R? I've never tried so I don't know.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not a thing. But the various versions and mix-and-match approach to the accessories that Jaguar has produced in different markets means I've seen a lot of odd combinations of various aero packs at different years and trim levels in different places. But I've never seen a base XK come with the aero kit or the speed pack software updates from the factory. The main trim changes I've seen are the Portfolio and Poltrona Frau editions.

There's not many of our cars around so imagine my surprise when I popped down the supermarket this morning and found myself parked next to another one. I spoke to the lady owner who said she'd had the car for 15 years and loved it. She also said she deliberately parked 'badly' because she'd had enough of people denting her doors.

I can't say much good about the 2006's parking job, but it's good to see some of these things out in the wild.

I don't do this kind of anti-social parking myself but I've seen a few high-end motors parked this way and I understand what she meant about why she does it. It discourages anyone with a car much bigger than a Fiat 500 to try parking to the left of her, reducing the risk of them bashing her passenger door - and gives her more space to open her own driver's door, which is good when you're getting too old to do the limbo-dance on your way out of the drivers seat.

There's a Bentley that visits that Waitrose from time to time and likes to park literally on the centre between two spaces. I once saw an irate motorist deliberately park up inches away from it just to make a point.
