oil level question - does yours read 0.5qt low after shutting off?

oil level question - does yours read 0.5qt low after shutting off?
have been tracking oil levels on a 2010 xkr with ~100k miles
have noticed that every time i shut down the car and run the check immediately, its usually says add 0.5qt
but after 10-20 mins or so, it will show as full
assuming this is normal as the oil needs to drain but want to confirm

@Street cat , short answer. Yes. That engine requires the 20 minute period following an engine shutdown to drain the oil into the sump.
