Default Opinion on Alcon caliper color please

Getting Alcons stripped and recoated. Keeping the machined raised R logo but changing the 6 Piston text to JAGUAR.

The question is do I play it safe and stay with gloss red or do I go with a bright yellow like the Jaguar carbon ceramic kit?

I have Red Alcon's, but I would prefer the Yellow as seen in the photo.

The Yellow is an attention getter and becomes a focal point to the XKR.

Go with Yellow. They look stunning and I like the new script.

Yep, I'd go yellow with the grey as well. Had a Jag drive day last Friday and drove an F type R AWD with the carbon brakes, the yellow really stands out even on a white car, it'd look awesome on a grey one.

The shape of Alcon's is different than the ceramic caliper. I would go with the red or if you want something different; how about BRG?

Here's OEM red for comparison. I prefer the "6 Piston" because very few cars have 6-piston calipers and it's always a conversation starter. With the Jaguar logo center caps, adding "Jaguar" to the caliper would be redundant. Also, the red Jaguar logo matches the red caliper. And those red accents look good with the Shadow Gray exterior paint. Now I'm thinking about changing my OEM black Growler grille ornament to the new style red one to complete the red accent look.

Thanks for the input everyone. I have decided to go with yellow, but retain the machined alloy R logo. I've had red Brembo calipers on several cars and decided to try something different. He's going to do one as a test and as long as I like the result, the rest will follow suit.

I don't think the "yellow" center caps are even necessary.

I would want the calipers to be the focal point when viewing from the side or at an angle.

The black growler Jaguar center caps with the yellow calipers would be my #1 choice.

But JA can try a few different versions.

I really want to see some photos of the new calipers on the car.

I think the yellow will make them stand out more, the red seems can get a bit lost.

I posted that pic in response to Stuart's challenge, I'd never, ever put them on the car. I currently have the center caps as pictured in the first post, the newest red growlers. Black would be fine too, but I think I'll stick with red as I have the new red matching growler on the front grille.

It is a difficult balance, but if you consider the number of times the text JAGUAR, R emblems & growlers appear on the car is it really redundant? The grille growler & text JAGUAR, the growler center caps with the text JAGUAR, the rear hatch plinth on mine says JAGUAR (though I may change that to say nothing like the later cars), growler badge with text JAGUAR on steering wheel airbag, R emblem on front grille, rear hatch, all 4 calipers, steering wheel, headrests, shifter knob & passenger dash cover & JAGUAR text on floor mats...

I have red accents all over the car, inside & out so I think yellow calipers will stand out even more. We'll see!

It's great that you have so many choices. If you get tired of one, try another. Variety is the spice of life. (attributed to Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby, and others)

Sometimes people such as Stuart S mentioned end up paying a very high price for their spices!

I left out the text JAGUAR on the side vents X2.
