Default Paddle shifting rpms?

Couple of questions. What are the optimal rpms when upshifting and downshifting with paddles. Second, is it ok to use selecter knob to turn to sport mode when already driving? This car drives at such low rpms in drive mode. I'm getting to know the car more. My old 1985 Ferrari 308 was so mechanical compared to this great ride. Thanks

My Father's Day at Laguna Seca. My little cat wanted to run.

2 different breeds. My 77 308 GTB was just a raw mechanical machine. As you know they were a little firm in suspension but was a lot of fun to drive. As for the Jag a much different car. More of a luxury GT with some nice power and fairly good handling. As for driving the XK the tall gears are for cruising so unless you wand more noise just go with the normal driving mode. If you go into "S" then you can shift into it any time. And for the paddles you can take them right up to red line . So enjoy the ride .

To get the most oomph, use the old Drag Race credo...... shift so the shift RECOVERY point is just shy of Max Torque.

And that sound of the managed down shifting is so exhilarating! Reason alone to be in S or using paddles when slowing.

I'm guilty of this. A lot.
