Default Photo request please...

I finally crawled under my 2012 XK and got a good look. Loved what I saw. No rust, well-maintained...very happy with it all.

One thing that jumped out at me was a bolt hole that was missing a bolt. It was on the rear differential, astern (i.e. towards the rear, lower if you are not marine-language experts.) It did not appear to be a fill hole but nonetheless I threw me a little to see bare threads and nothing covering the bolt hole.

Would someone kindly snap a photo (assuming your car is on a lift) of the rear differential and post? I am curious what the story is behind the missing bolt.

As always, thanks in advance.

When I changed my ediff fluid 2 years ago I believe I also noticed a threaded hole. My car is on a lift now for storage. Check the following thread for a picture of the differential, go to post 58: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-196425/page3/

If you don't see what you're looking for PM me and I'll go out to the garage and snap you a few pictures and post them here.

@DGL - This is exactly what I was referencing. The photo shows the same as mine (nothing attached/missing). I will go with that and leave well enough alone.

Be well.

Well thanks for the link to the pics. It confirms that the drive axles like are prone to surface rust. My underside is rust free sans the axles...and its driving me nuts. Time to bust out the wire wheel and POR15.
