Default Piano Black scratch-removal?

I have a couple very light scratches in the piano black dash-panel above the glove-box. Anyone have experience with scratch-removal (or cover-up)? I did a search and came up with nothing... thx.

I'd try a good car polish on it - eg meguars (sp?). But if that doesn't work, you could always wrap the part. The black 3M wrap is pretty much identical to the piano black finish. Or you could go with something more funky. I just rewrapped mine in black carbon fibre (another 3M product) whichlooks very swish. It even has my wife's unguarded approval, and she has way more class and taste than me.

Please share a few pics. I'd love to see how it came out.

Thanks.

here you go. A trap for the unwary - figure out which way the stripes are going to go before you put the wrap on. I had to redo some of mine, but settled on them going to the left from the centre console and to the left, and to the right for the dash piece and right door.

Haha! Lucky I was wearing pants. If you are wondering what the song is on the stereo, it is "die walkerie" (the ride of the valkyries (sp?)). Alas, I'm not an opera fan, it was on the "shoot 'em up" soundtrack. And 22c is cool for our summer, even at 6AM. Usually 25ish at that time. I've seen 2c here. In a beer fridge.

The repair of scratches in the piano black veneer is done exactly the same way as repairing a scratch on the walnut veneer - both are high gloss: the method: buy a GOOD, professional body polish like the 3M Finesse-it polishes (these are the sort that auto body shops use for final finishing). Just put some on a microfibre cloth and polish until the the scratch is gone. Then finish with a good non-abrasive carnauba wax. This same procedure works on scratches in the exterior paint. The professional polishes like 3M or Autoglym are better than the "commercial" ones that you can buy at auto parts stores - considerably better.
The wood in Jaguars should always be keptt waxed for best appearance and longevity
