Default Piano Black and Spun Aluminum Dash

Greetings,

During one of my frequent lusts after the new model XKs I saw an XKR with the Piano Black and the engine spun aluminum dash veneer. It was definitely a departure from the normal wood that I am used to but it did look pretty clean. I was wondering if anyone with a new model XK had this treatment and what their thoughts were on it.

Mike

Default Piano Black

I have seen the aluminum in person at the dealership, but can say I was knocked out over it.

I do like the Piano Black though. I would actually like to see if I could get a full set of Piano Black dash parts to install in my 08 Portfolio instead of the Walnut.

I have a 2010 XKR with the Piano Black and the engine spun aluminum dash veneer. It's a much different look than the wood in my last XK but with the colorcombo I have I think it looks great. Kyanite Blue, Black top and interior. There is a better pic in my gallery

I got the Black Piano wood in my 08 XK, I can honestly say i purchased the car cause of the interior it looks so elegant and sexy and IMO a million times nicer than the wood it was my deciding factor in the end...

I decided to order the engine spun aluminum dash veneer, apart from the awesome look I decided that the XKR was such a departure from the old Jags that a new look dash was required... so no walnut. I went with Black paint and ivory interior the contrasts are very nice. Kev.
