Default Picked Up My 2013 XKR Today

Well the wait is over and I'm really excited. This car is all that I hoped it would be. The Italian Racing Red is not as bright as I expected, but it is really striking especially out in the sun where the metallic paint is really sparkling. I am also happy with selecting piano black trim since it matches the center stack and I really like the feeling of the dark cabin with the Jet headliner offset slightly by the red stitching (which is very well done as you would expect from Jaguar).

Can't wait to get it out on the open road--drove a whole 15 miles from the dealer home. Here are a few pics I took in the garage this evening--need to get some shots outside.

Congrats! Very nice. I like the way the color, red brake calipers, and red stitching play off each other. I like the rims as well. Good call on the piano black. Have fun!

Congrats!

The Italian Racing Red looked stunning on the XKR at the JaguarAlive event that we attended. Interesting that you find the color not as bright as you expected. For us, when we looked at an XJL with the Italian Racing Red, it appeared much too bright. For us the color fits the character of a sports car but, not a large saloon car.

Congratulations! That's a truly stunning colour on the car, and very nice wheels too. Enjoy!

Nope, still have it--you can see part of it in one of the pictures. The XKR is for my wife--we are a happy two Jaguar family now!

I guess what I meant is that it's not a fire engine red like MB's non-metallic Mars Red. I think it is softer and, of course, the metallic makes a big difference in the look. I agree about this color on an XJL--I am not a fan of any red on a large sedan either.

Did you happen to trade-in one of the many XKRs that are on dealer lots in Houston?

It does remind me of the metallic red that Alfa has been using recently; hense the name of Italian Racing Red. Alfa's red is darker than Ferrari's red (traditionally).

I'll speak for him (as you can see, he and I are close friends). They traded a very nice E550 Coupe.

And yes, HouTexJag, I know you will collect!
