I just purchased a 2007 xkr and when it arrived I noticed one of the chrome vents that say "supercharged" was tarnished. They are plastic so I called a few places to see about getting both pieces rechromed. I found a few companies that can do it but it will cost about $200 each. Does anyone know where to get a "chrome" replacement. And I've seen the one from Mina that have the mesh insert. I like the factory versions that have "supercharged" much better. I would probably purchase a pair but if anyone know where to get just one PLEASE let me know. I need the one that's on the passengers side. Thanks.

There are 2 different XKR hood vent designs. Below is the standard OEM design, which does not have a chrome strake:


The optional OEM design with the chrome strake is a dealer-installed accessory available from Jaguar dealers:


If you're looking to replace this optional design, you can order a set for $249 from Park Place Jaguar. See this link: Jaguar | XK Parts | XKR HOOD LOUVRE, PAIR

You may be able to find them at a lower price on eBay or from another internet vendor.

I did see these and actually called a dealer to inquire but found out that the only part that's chrome is the supercharged part, the outer rim has to be painted. The one I have is entirely chrome. Cant believe this is a factory part that can't be replaced with an exact match....but I'm starting to.

 

Most likely they are chrome plated by an aftermarket company. I don't think Jaguar Accessories has the entire vent chromed.
